How to Remove a Google Account From an Android Device Without Resetting It

You might want to remove your Google account from your phone when you’re about to sell it or just remove someone else’s account linked to your device. Unlike other applications, erasing the app data will not remove your account and you cannot uninstall Google Play Store either.

This guide will demonstrate how you can remove any Google Account from your Android smartphone without the need of performing a factory reset.

1. Navigate to Settings > Accounts
2. Tap Google

   
   

3. Choose the account you wish to remove

4. Click on options and then tap Remove account

   
   

5. Tap Remove account when the confirmation dialog pops up

Unlinking an account with the device will stop synchronizing your data with that device and also remove the associated contacts and applications.
