Many MacOS users reported that after updating to Sierra, they are unable to open and use the External Drives that were working prior to the upgrade. The drive will not show up on Desktop and Finder but it will show up in System Report -> Hadware -> USB. This issue is most likely due to NTFS not being compatible with the drivers needed to run the External Drive Properly. If you’re affected by this issue, then be assured that you’re not the only one, almost everyone with an external drive is affected by this issue.
NOTE: Make sure you do not format the Drive using Disk Utility or any other application or by connecting the drive to a different OS unless you don’t have the data copied somewhere else the data will be lost.
Follow the steps below to fix this issue by download Paragon makes NTFS drives read/write compatible with MacOS.
