When trying to install Google Cloud Print in Windows 10, you may get an error telling you XPSSVCS.DLL is missing. The following error message is thrown by the installer:

Apparently, some XPS printing feature present in Windows 7 was removed in Windows 8. Microsoft released updates KB3177725 and KB3176493 which ended up preventing users to print more than one page at a time, among other issues including Windows . This bug affects Vista, Windows 7, 8.1, RT 8.1, as well as Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2.

To fix this issue, we will uninstall updates KB3177725 and KB3176493 or installing the latest Windows 10 (creators) update. A temporal solution involves printing via Cloud Print through a browser.

Method 1: Uninstalling the Updates

  1. Press CTRL + I to open Windows settings.
  2. Select Update & Security and navigate to Update history > Uninstall update
  3. A Control Panel window will open showing all installed updates. Click on the “Search Installed Updates” search bar at the upper-right and type KB3177725 and the KB3176493.
  4. Double-click on the search result and click OK to uninstall the updates.
  5. Reboot your PC and try to install Google Cloud Print again.

Method 2: Updating Windows

The latest Windows Updates have resolved this issue. Applying the latest creators or anniversary update should resolve this issue for you.

  1. Press CTRL + I to open Windows settings.
  2. Select Update & Security and click on Check for updates. Once there are new updates, Windows will automatically install them, else click Install updates and then reboot after you’re done.
  3. Try installing Google Cloud Print after installing these updates.

Method 3: Printing Via the Browser

You can use this method as a workaround to print your documents using any web browser.

  1. Visit https://www.google.com/cloudprint in your web browser
  2. Click on PRINT and then select Upload file to print

  3. Select your file and then upload it.
  4. Select the printer from which you want to print and then print your document
