If you like to change the look and feel of your Android device, the easiest way to do it is to download a custom launcher. Today, there are thousands of launchers on the Play Store, and sometimes, it may be tricky to choose the right one for you. Some users need features and customization. Others may be interested in the simplicity and speed. For that purpose, I created a list of the top 5 Android launchers for 2017.

Google Now Launcher

If you are the kind of user that likes the stock vanilla look of the Google Android, then you should check the Google Now launcher. This app offers you a fast and clean experience identical to the one found on Google Nexus phones. The main benefit of this launcher is that you have quick access to Google Now cards with just one swipe.

The biggest weakness of this launcher is the customization. Google Now launcher does not allow icon pack or grid changes, or any other visual changes. However, If you a stock Android lover, check out the link in the Play Store Google Now Launcher.

OF Launcher

This is one of the newest launchers in the Play Store, and it has a fascinating layout. In today’s age of increasingly sized smartphones, OF launcher provides a one handed usage even if you have a 6-inch-screen device. All the most important features are positioned just a swipe away from your home screen.

Because it is a new launcher, it may have some bugs and glitches here and there, but overall OF Launcher offers a fresh, convenient and fast experience for your Android. Here is the Play Store link OF Launcher.

Nova Launcher

Nova Launcher is the most customizable launcher that you can find in the Play Store. It comes in free and paid version, and it is my favorite launcher out there. Nova is a fast and stable launcher, and it allows you to tweak the settings as you like to personalize the experience. Everything from the desktop grid, app drawer, icon size, and animations is easily customizable. Nova Launcher is compatible with almost any icon pack and theme, so if you like changing things up, you can do that. Despite all the customization, this launcher provides a variety of features like a gesture support, notification badges and customizable shortcuts, which can be really convenient for the advanced users.

However, if you twisted my arm asking me for the downside of the Nova Launcher, I would probably say the price. Not all the impressive features are available in the free version, and if you like to experience the real power of Nova, you must purchase the Prime version. Despite that, Nova Launcher is a complete launcher worth trying, here is the Play Store link Nova Launcher.

Arrow Launcher

If we compare this launcher with the other ones, this is a definitely high-performance launcher. Arrow Launcher flies through the interface even on the slow smartphones. It has features like the high-performance mode and ability to kill the background apps. Also, this launcher offers a high level of customization with some minor limitation here and there.

Using Arrow Launcher on a daily basis can consume more battery than the other alternatives, and if you are OK with that, I will highly recommend you trying it. Here is the link in the Play Store Arrow Launcher.

Lens Launcher

This is launcher with a unique and very interesting concept. Lens Launcher shows all of your apps on the home screen in the large grid. Launching an app is straightforward and intuitive, just hold your finger on the screen until you find the needed app and let go over the top of the app you want to open.

Lens Launcher does not offer you access to different home screens and widgets, but if you need quick access to all of your apps, it is worth trying. Here is the Play Store link Lens Launcher.
