BEST FIX: Steps to fix err_network_changed

A majority of users have reported this error saying Unable to access network along with the error message i.e. ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED. It resists them from browsing the web using their internet connection. Users have also associated this error with the Google Chrome browser because this error is mostly seen on this browser. The known reason causing this error to appear is related to a third party software installed on the PC causing the conflict with the internet connectivity. It could be a VPN service which changed the DNS settings or any additional adapter installed into the system causing it to display this error message.

There are numerous fixes for this issue. Every fix tends to work in one way or other. Before trying any solution, make it sure that your PC is properly connected to the internet and your router is working perfectly. So, you should give a try to everyone and check if it works for you or not.

Method # 1: Check for a modification in DNS Settings

Sometimes, third party VPN software installed on PC can modify the DNS settings resulting in this error message. So, it is important to check for DNS settings in order to get your network back to its working state. Follow the steps below.

1. Go to Control Panel using Win + X on Windows 8 and Windows 10 and selecting Control panel from the list. In older versions of Windows, you can open it from start menu. Inside the control panel, find Network and Sharing Center and click over it.

2. Inside Network and Sharing Center, navigate to the left pane and click on Change adapter settings.

3. It would open a new Window. There, you would see some Network Adapters currently installed on the system. Right click on the adapter which is currently in use and select Properties from the list.

4. Inside the adapter properties window, first select the Internet Protocol Version 4 from items panel and click on Properties button below.

5. Inside IPv4 Properties, check if the settings are the same or you can also set the IP Address and DNS Address to be obtained automatically. Do the same with IPv6 and click OK.

Method # 2: Checking for LAN Settings

1. Open the Control panel using the instructions mentioned above and select Internet Options. If you can’t find this option, change the view of Control panel to the Small icons located at the top right corner.

2. Inside Internet Options, navigate to Connections tab and click on LAN Settings button at the bottom.

3. Inside LAN Settings window, uncheck everything and click OK. Browse the web and check if everything is back to its normal state or not.

Method # 4: Resetting TCP/IP

Resetting TCP/IP protocols can also help in the removal of this problem. For the sake of resetting the TCP/IP, follow these instructions.

1. Open Command Prompt pressing Win + X and selecting it from the list in Windows 8 and Windows 10 or you can open it from the start menu in older versions of Windows.

2. Type the following command inside Command prompt and hit Enter key on the keyboard.

netsh int ip reset

This single line of command will reset TCP/IP to default and you would be back with your fully-functional network.

Method # 4: Clearing the Browser Cookies and Caches
