If you’re an Android user then I can safely say that you must have MX Player installed on your device to watch videos in different formats. MX Player is no doubt the best video player on Android because of its user-friendly interface and near flawless video streaming. In addition to that, the modern high-resolution screens you get with smart phones provides a complete theater-like experience on your Smartphone. However, the problem arises when you download a high-resolution video which isn’t supported by Android such as AC3.

Due to licensing issues the MX Player can’t play videos with AC3 audio (Most of these high-quality videos are AC3). In this guide, we will see how to enable AC3 in MX Player.

Installing the Custom Codec:

The first thing to do is to download AIO 1.7.32 codec package from here

Once, you’ve downloaded it place the file on the default download folder of your Smartphone. (This can be done by simply copying and pasting the downloaded file to the download folder that is located on the root / of your SD Card.

Next, you open the MX Player on your mobile phone and head down to Settings > Decoder > Custom Codec. You will be asked to touch the AIO codec package which shall be available in the Downloads folder.

Let MX Player do the rest and it will restart if the Codec was successfully applied.

If you want to verify whether the codec is correctly placed or not simply go to the about section through the MX Player help bar and you should see a text that says “Custom Codec 1.7.32”.

Congratulations, you have successfully applied the Custom Codec on the MX Player and you can now enjoy all your favorite videos from the comfort of your cell phone.
