Updating to Windows 10 is liable to create a series of problems for users regardless of how much care you take while installing it. One peculiar issue after performing a clean install was the disappearance of the audio devices from the device manager. The two sections namely “Audio inputs and outputs” and “Sound video and game controllers” have reportedly gone missing from the computer devices of many users who did a clean install. Along with this, some users have also noticed their audio drivers not starting along with some other drivers malfunctioning. The “Sound” section within control panel surprisingly didn’t list any audio devices for many of the victims of this issue as well.

Are you too facing this peculiar issue? Are you tired of following the useless methods available elsewhere and just want to get the right fix once and for all? Then you have come to the right place as our experts were able to diagnose the issue and find the root cause of it that was common for most of the people facing the issue. This is normally caused by driver incompatibility and we will show you a complete guide as to how you can deal with this. Read on:

Firstly you need to download the Intel Driver update utility. Click here to do so.

Once downloaded, double click on the file to start the installer. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the installation.

Once the installation commences, start the application. There will be a button “Start scan” on the window big enough for you to spot it. Click on it to begin the scanning.

Now you should be suggested by the utility to install the “Correct” chipset driver that suits your architecture more. What happened was that during the clean installation, Windows selected the latest chipset driver which has compatibility issues with your computer. So, once you select the checkbox next to the chipset driver and click on the download button, the compatible chipset driver should get downloaded.

Install the downloaded driver and restart.

The issue should no longer be there and all your audio devices should now be visible again.
